Working with Muslin is Key!

Working with Muslin is Key!
Finally, I put together my Tribal Cloak and am so excited to share it. It is a super simple, chic design that is created from a cheap fleece blanket (in my case), which I decided to destroy before tearin' into a very expensive Pendleton Blanket. I am even more excited that this muslin came out so well! Muslin, in sewing terms basically means sewing a mock up with cheaper fabric to test a new garment. I have been thinking about this design for awhile and happy to see it coming to life! A little different than I originally seen in my head, but just as cool!
I cannot to wait to style it further, but I decided to do a few photo shoots to show its versatility. I do have to bribe my boyfriend to take to me to such fun places. I may also have to force him to snap the pictures! He loves me so he risks his cool status to capture my vision! He is such a true.
We also happened to find a gorgeous, grungy white wall down town. Who would of guessed cigg butts could ever good so good. Just kidding! I did however, loved the natural light. I can envision using this space again!
In a small conservative town you are judged easily for straying from the crowd. We sure did get some stares, but funny, I always seem to get some stares. If your out of place just a little, people have to know. They will find out too! Oh, well. I am always down to make a statement!
I hope you love and I attached below the process of how I created mine. Please do take the creative freedom to make your own changes and make any adjustments! I appreciate the unconfined approach to sewing and if you do too, then you'll love this easy Tribal Cloak.
