I can't believe how the time is flying by. Keeping busy is definitely the cause of the time passing by quickly and I am excited to share what I have been up to in my little studio/deep couch sitting/desk and lamp. First things first, I apologize for not writing sooner or consistently. I plan to catch up and always let you know whats poppin' on my little rez, in my little town, and in my little apartment. Wow! That is a lot of little places and I am starting to feel it, but I have big ideas, new thoughts, and more work.
It all started when I hit up an old friend! I met this friend my sophomore year of college when we teamed up for a first ever indigenous Fashion Show at theU of M Powwow representing/bringing awareness to native made work and promoting buying native. This collaboration gave me an empowering insight to my future and I knew I wanted to work alongside Jessica Metcalfe again! She runs a fashion blog and boutique, Beyond Buckskin, representing contemporary Indian Country artists. She is giving native peoples a platform to voice their culture, work and skills. If you haven't heard, know you now! Check out what Jessica is accomplishing and follow her amazing work too at Beyond Buckskin.
Beginning of January- Once I felt established enough and ready to venture out, I hit Jessica up and with open arms she added me to her "Buy Native List". Being on this list with other amazing artist was incredible and offered the start I needed to be noticed by a new upcoming actress!
January 21st- Lily Gladstone supported the Glam Fan Quill earrings at Sundance!!! I am so proud of Lily and her breakout role in the new movie Certain Women! She plays a rancher opposite of Kristen Stewart. I am in love with the reviews and can't wait to see the movie!
*And yes I love Parks and Rec.
February 18th- Had to say "see you later" to my preschoolers who came into the library twice a week. We planted flowers and read the Little Red Hen today. I know they will take good care of their little seeds.
Until next time, Baamaapii!
