When I was Blonde..
I hope this new year comes as fresh, bold and the most important fun, as 2015 did.
When I was Blonde..
I started the year as a blonde and ended it as a dark-haired vixen ready to conquer whatever life hands me next. Technically, I don't think life is giving me anything too much (not anything I can't handle), but rather, it is what I personally am diving head first into! I am the one who tends to take on to much, usually, watches too many seasons of Breaking Bad (or all the Resident Evil movies). But 2015 was good to me, as every year before it, was too! Surprisingly. I can honestly say I'm wayyyy up; I feel blessed. I hope you read that in a Drake and Big Sean voice.
I hope this new year comes as fresh, bold and the most important fun, as 2015 did.

...And Student Loans are Coming in Hot!
I recently graduated from the University of Michigan this past May with a Degree in Art & Design! This November marks the start of repaying my student loans. It has finally begun to come - in the mail, consistent calling, and throughout my emails. My student loans! They are the reminder that I have officially reached the end of an era. I am officially six months deep into post-grad life. Life after college stands filled with harsh wake-up calls (literally, cause I suck at getting up and Eric or his mom is calling my phone at 7 am). I'd love to share what I have learned so far, especially what I have learned from graduating with an Art & Design Degree.
Life during college came with a set of instructions, a laid out schedule and places to be. Whether that was good, great, stressful, and just terrible at times, there seemed to be consistency. Like I knew Fall break was just around the corner or that I had a sorority full of the amazing woman I could go running too. Fours years later and the University of Michigan "process" or balance of dealing with classes on top of work on top of running a sorority on top of having a social life is ingrained deeply. That sounds like the real world in a nutshell, but while in school you get to claim the identity of "student," which helps! You are a student, and apart of a cultural, in my case a "U of M" cultural. My Ever-Changing DaysEver since being home, my schedule has changed dramatically. I did make sure to keep the highly busy lifestyle that I got used to downstate, but now I'm not running from work to class to work to homework to my sorority. And my days no longer include coffee shops stops at any of my five favorite coffee shops (which happened to be all in the same vicinity, how did I ever choose.. well it was the tough decision of every morning, that's for sure). My days also don't include my frequent stops at JoAnn's, the Bead Gallery, or Target. I did loved being able to get what I need when I need it, especially materials. Eric's mom is probably thinking I'm crazy for all the mail I get!
Sorry for the Wait
I feel like a Drake album or maybe it wasLil' Wayne. Now I have to go listen to Drake's new mixtape while I write.. any who starting a business is very complicated! I knew a little coming into the field of online entrepreneurship, but I am the type of person who needs to be fully prepared for any situation. If I am traveling on vacation or for business, I will pack 8 pairs of shoes just incase. In my purse on any given day, I make sure to always I have my mac, Ipad, calendar, and sketch pad (Yes! I have a huge purse!). Sometimes, I feel the need to carry my beading carryon or makeup bag as well. Who am I kidding, I really do travel with three bags anywhere I go: to my moms, to the grocery store, etc. I just want to make sure I have whatever I need for inspiration.
For my business or anything new I do, that means I need to do my research. Studying hard, rummaging other blogs, looking at other online stores and making sure I have checklists to make it all come together. About 4 months ago, I honestly didn't know where to even start this journey and I assumed it started with a product and a need for that item. That is the truth, but there is so much more that goes into that one amazing product before it even reaches a shop. |
