Walk a Day in My Mocs

My Ever-Changing Days

Ever since being home, my schedule has changed dramatically. I did make sure to keep the highly busy lifestyle that I got used to downstate, but now I'm not running from work to class to work to homework to my sorority. And my days no longer include coffee shops stops at any of my five favorite coffee shops (which happened to be all in the same vicinity, how did I ever choose.. well it was the tough decision of every morning, that's for sure). My days also don't include my frequent stops at JoAnn's, the Bead Gallery, or Target. I did loved being able to get what I need when I need it, especially materials. Eric's mom is probably thinking I'm crazy for all the mail I get!
I do however have new perks! My schedule is now finally being solidified and I'm getting used to managing my assistant Library position, my job as a fill-in receptionist, and as an adjunct professor for my hometown's community college. That is also why I may have been a little MIA the last week or so! I was trying to get used to my ever changing schedule! I never have the same day and I love it! So it may be hard to explain my routine in one day, but i'll try give it to you straight!

6:00-6:30am I hit snooze on my hunnies.. 7 alarms!

6:40am He is finally out of the door and I take a little cat nap until 8am.

8:00am I'm usually up, reading my Cosmo-snaps then catching up on the 8 hours of Instagram that I missed while sleeping. Yes, I may be an addict! Next, I skim through Facebook and once I'm fully awake.. I hop up out the bed (turn my swag on!) Just kidding, but really.

8:50am By now, I'm showered, clothed, and have my home-brewed Ice Coffee in hand, I am ready to head out!

The Library!
9:00am I open the college library and immediately start cataloging the donated books, so I can add them to the unique and intimate collection we have. I mean what other libraries can say they have whole sections of Anishinaabe books and Michigan Poetry and more.

Side note I had the cutest elderly couple come in just today, and they were actually looking for another office and found the library instead! They came in and the older man starting talking about a class he wanted to teach. He explained he was a inventor and not much of a teacher, but he wanted to give his hands on skills to people who want vocational training instead of the "standard" education most places offer. I respected that completely because people do learn in different ways. I mean I know so many smart and hardworking people, who can't handle the conventional school system. But anywho, this couple was so cute, after helping them find there way and leaving a note (because the person they needed to talk to wasn't in). The older gentlemen explained that his wife (the women with him) had an aneurysm a few years ago, and she was supposed to never recover from it. She was supposed to remain a vegetable, but she was walking and doing her crosswords right across from me. He excitingly explained their vegan diets and she mentioned she liked my name. He then walked her and I back to the library and honestly I couldn't imagine a love any better than that. He cared for her daily and changed his whole lifestyle for her. She mentioned she liked my name a few more times and all I could do was smile.

12:00pm I go home for my Caesar Salad kit and check on our bad kitties! See what they have gotten into now.

12:30pm I'm back in the LIBBB and taking the books that are almost ready to shelve and add the final touches! Stamping our location on each, adding the due date slip in the back to all, and laminating the paperbacks, so they have a protective cover.

2:00pm Somedays I stay at the LIBBB until 4pm, but occasionally I will get called in for my fill-in receptionist position which can take me anywhere from Ojibwa Building Supply to the Tribal Center to Tribal Child Support Services. Each are very interesting and educational in their own ways!

I get to see Lake Superior every day, that is a blessing in itself.
4:30pm By now I am usually done for the day and can focus on what I want, which ranges from hanging with my mom or sister, riding around with Eric (he is always on a mission to get something done), binge watching Parks and Recreations, or working on my Business. Most days I am multitasking more than one of the above!

Fall colors are here!
6-7:30pm Two days of the week, I teach Intro to Illustrator- a mini course, to a small group of woman at my local community college. It's a hoot for sure!

8:00pm I either go back to working on my jewelry or writing on my blog. Recently I have been so exhausted. I am getting used to it now though, so expect more funny stories and interesting days. I have good news coming too!!!

Although I am still am getting used to my hectic schedule, I know it won't be hard getting used to three pay checks! I can honestly say I am excited to get up every morning, it still is hard to get out of my comfy and warm covers, but I enjoy my days.
STAY TUNED!
*Coming Soon* A love story!
